A traditional stone-built pack horse bridge, Ashness bridge is one of the most photographed bridges in the Lake District. Straddling over a fast flowing beck it used to provide the perfect foreground for the view north towards Derwentwater with Skiddaw towering in the background above Keswick. Although the trees beyond the bridge have grown quite tall blocking most of the view of the lake, it's still very picturesque and well worth a visit.
